Get stuffed!

In the tradition of shops that use puns in their title, such as "The Codfather" for a chippie, I had to put this one. This was a taxidermists in Highbury, London opposite a famous work of Banksy's on the Tescos wall. The shop next door is vying for second prize I think!!

It's all gone to cock !

Just got back from the 3 Wishes Faery Festival which was a complete washout. But there's always something to make you laugh and this time it was a packet of sausages no less. Jen, on the stall next to us, couldn't stop laughing when she went to open this packet. The "reduced" sticker adds even more to the hilarity !!

The Loozer

Yes, it has been a while. This is not due a lack of interesting graffiti but rather a lack of time to photo and post it. Anyway, this one quite amused me. The owner went bust but decided to leave a small message to the franchiser about how he felt. Cheesey but funny!

Blimey! It's been a while!

At last, something worth posting. After long delay, it is good to see that someone with a sense of humour and artistic flare is back in town. I shall be looking for this tag and posting accordingly.

OCD or what ?

Just come back from India and amazed at the level of service at the hotel. However, I do believe that putting all your toiletries out in regimental fashion was a tad OCD on the part of the staff.

Happy Sahmain

Can it be a whole year has gone by ? At this time it is good to remember all those who have passed and we especially think of Simon. Tree and I spent the evening with Joy, Nige and the tribe. I found a new way to cut a pumpkin and had great fun, seeing as it is modeled on Nige. A very happy pumpkin !!

The writings on the wall (well the floor actually)

Following the efforts Tree and I have made in having children, and the doubts about the whole issue, I couldn't help but feel that something is trying to show me the way. As W.C Fields said, " The best advice in the world is to follow the instructions on a match box. Stay dry and keep away from children".

Graffiti II

Following on from my previous post, I found this piece just down the road from the last one. I think they were done by the same person. An interesting choice of colour I think.

Good or bad graffiti ?

Now some people would argue that there is no such thing as good graffiti, but I beg to differ. I agree that pointless name "tagging" and offensive gesturing have no worth in any way, however, when it provides mirth in an artistic temperament, it rocks. The photo above is , to my mind, a classic piece of inventive wit. I have always been able to identify Flemish architecture by its curves, so to highlight this in such a way is most amusing. To the passer by it is almost invisible as graffiti and strikes more as a compulsory notice than an observation. I have seen several other pieces of this work, around about, and shall endeavor to post them on here as I find them.

Immune systems rock !!

Unless you are someone who has stretched up one of your ears, this blog may have no shred of understanding to you. Otherwise, it's fascinating. I recently started to stretch up my right ear. Being fully aware of the risks in stretching too fast, I took my time getting it up to about 6mm. However, I began to notice that my ear was becoming unusually warm for this process and a little gooey, to say the least. The lubrication of the plug is your bodies way of trying to expel a foreign object and some people find this gets a bit whiffy at times. I find this with surgical steel but not with bone plugs. I decided to take the plug out for a routine clean when, to my surprise, I found half the plug eaten away. Apparently this is due to my body trying to re-absorb the bone, failing to do so and then breaking it down instead. I have since replaced the plug with a steel one and, so far, no problems. Isn't nature amazing !!

Welcome to Wales

Tree and I recently went on an excursion to Wales. I had read that Wales is really switched onto everything permaculture, but nothing prepared me for the welcome that greets you as you cross the Welsh border. I don't think anyone could miss this message.Amazing how they train the sheep to stay still like that !!!

It's nearly a full moon...Awooooh !!

Couldn't resist the opportunity to show off my new scope and what it can do. This photo was taken, very unprofessionaly, by sticking the camera up to the viewer. The image is a little blurred, as a result, but you get the idea !!

What lies beneath ?

No, not the film but rather how a camera can see cloud formations that aren't visible to the naked eye. This photo was taken in full sunlight at Tiddesley wood and yet the clouds weren't there until I checked the camera later. Spooky !
